The Chain Lock Challenge Rules

GET IN TOUCH TO ORGANISE A DATE and TIME

  1. You MUST record every unlock code / answer on your sheet

This will ensure that you have PROOF of your answer(s) if any locks ‘jam’ or break

  2. You MUST raise any query you have about a lock during your 60 minutes

  3. Every thing you need to solve the puzzles is inside the green box

  4. When the 60 minutes are ‘up’ - you must stop all puzzle solving activities!

  5. You can use a phone but ultimately do not or should not need to

  6. Some puzzles are deliberately misleading and will test your resolve

  7. It is entirely up to you how you organise your team - but please ensure that any locks, once opened, are left open - this helps to confirm your score!

  8. Your host will be nearby and can be called upon to query / test a lock should you believe that the lock has stopped working

Scoring:

Scenario A - All locks unlocked and released from the chains BEFORE 60 minutes limit

Your time is your score - and is your objective. If no other team achieves all 30 - you win.

Scenario B - 60 minutes limit is reached

The number of locks released from the chains is your score

Scenario C - 60 minutes limit is reached during which you query a lock or locks that won’t open on a code

Remember: this cannot be done AFTER the 60 minutes has ended

The number of locks released from the chains + any correct written answers where the corresponding locks have ceased working.
